Cookie policy
Cookie policy.
No tracking. No cookie banner. This website does not set its own cookies. Here is exactly what that means. Last updated 26 October 2026.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep, so the site can recognise the same browser when it comes back. Websites can also keep data in your browser in other ways, such as local storage and session storage. This policy covers all of them.
Our cookies
Metal Craft does not set any cookies on this website. We use no analytics, advertising or social-media tracking, and the site’s scripts store nothing in your browser: no local storage, session storage or other site data. The animated introduction on the home page runs entirely in your browser and keeps no record of your visit. There is one exception: the division you choose, Railway Bridges or Heavy Engineering, which the site remembers in your browser’s local storage so that pages open in that division. It holds no personal data, and clearing the site’s data in your browser removes it. When you send the enquiry form, it also sends which division you were browsing, which holds no personal data.
Every page loads its fonts, images, video and scripts from this website’s own address, and nothing from advertising, analytics or social-media services. Your browser may keep copies of these files in its normal cache so that pages open faster next time. The cached files are the same for every visitor and hold nothing about you.
Third-party cookies
Two services we rely on may set cookies of their own:
- Cloudflare, our hosting provider, may set security cookies (such as
__cf_bm) to tell people from bots and keep the site available. Cloudflare states that__cf_bmexpires after 30 minutes of inactivity, that a separate one is made for each website, and that it does not track people from site to site. Its cookie documentation lists the cookies it can set. - FormSubmit, which delivers enquiry forms, may set cookies on formsubmit.co while it checks a submission for spam. Its check page uses Google reCAPTCHA, which may set cookies of its own and is covered by Google’s privacy policy. FormSubmit’s own pages also use Google Analytics.
The FormSubmit and Google cookies are set only if you send the enquiry form, and only on their websites, not on this one.
We cannot read any of these cookies.
Links to other websites
Some links open other websites, such as Google Maps from the contact page, or the Cloudflare and Google pages linked above. Those websites may set their own cookies under their own policies, which we do not control.
Why there is no cookie banner
A cookie banner asks for your consent to cookies that a website does not need in order to work, such as those used for analytics or advertising. This website sets none of those, so there is nothing to accept or decline.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the cookies above will not stop you from browsing this site, though the enquiry form may ask you to complete an extra check.
The cookie settings sit in a slightly different place in each browser:
- Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security.
- Edge: Settings, then Privacy, search, and services, then Cookies.
- Firefox: Settings, then Privacy & Security.
- Safari on a Mac: Safari, then Settings, then Privacy.
- Safari on iPhone and iPad: the Settings app, then Safari (under Apps on recent versions).
Menu names change between browser versions, so your browser’s help pages have the current steps. Cookies set in a private or incognito window are deleted when you close all private windows.
Changes to this policy
If we add a service that sets cookies, or change how the site is hosted or how the enquiry form is delivered, we will update this page and the date at the top.
