The quality system and the approvals held by Metal Craft Engineering, Kolkata. The ISO 9001 certificate, the RDSO decision letter, the Certificate of Incorporation, the Memorandum and Articles of Association and the welding training certificates are shown on this page as PDFs, and their details below are as on 24 October 2026. A copy of each of the other four approvals is available on request; its number and dates are on the certificate itself.

The factory unit at Domjur (Unit 1) is approved under ISO 9001, the international standard for a quality management system. Under it, each job is planned with a quality assurance plan of its own, inspected stage by stage through fabrication and documented, and the records go to the client on request.

What this proves: certified to ISO 9001:2015 by KVQA, Certificate No. KDACQ202607106, with the scope as printed on it, for the Kolkata office and the Domjur factory (Unit 1). It certifies a quality management system; it is not a product approval.

NTPC approval

Power

Approval from NTPC. The power plant work on this site includes the SS304-lined ash silo and windboxes for NSPCL, the NTPC-SAIL Power Company, at Durgapur, and the ash silo for NTPC Durgapur ordered by Isgec.

Eastern Railway approval

How the approvals work in a fabrication order.

Railway and power plant buyers look at a fabricator’s approvals before they place an order, and their inspectors then work from the same papers while the job is in the yard. For railway girders, the RDSO approval and the zonal railway approvals sit alongside the railway’s own drawings, specification and inspection schedule. For power plant and boiler work, the client’s inspection protocol and the job’s quality assurance plan set the hold points, and the ISO 9001 system keeps the records that travel with each dispatch.

Railway Bridges relies on the RDSO decision letter, which names Unit 1, Domjur, and on the railway approvals; Heavy Engineering & Precision Fabrication relies on ISO 9001 and the NTPC approval.
